Here at Queen’s Equestrian Club, we believe in the restorative impact of riding. It has the unique, amazing power to calm and clear the mind.
In fact, several studies have shown how just being with horses — well-known for attuning themselves to human emotion — can be immensely therapeutic.
As a student, there’s a good chance you’re overwhelmed on a daily basis. Reading course material, cramming for exams and attending endless lectures can be draining, after all. It’s important to break away from the books once in a while to give yourself a much-needed pause.
Ultimately, this is how the Queen’s Equestrian Club was formed; we want to ensure all Queen’s University students have the opportunity to experience to the physical, social and emotional benefits riding horses can provide.
Keep calm and ride on!
Set on 110 acres of lush farmland mere minutes from Kingston, DreamCatcher Farm is an expansive facility that prides itself on maintaining high standards of excellence throughout all of its programs and services.
Whatever your skill level, you’ll get to experience weekly, hour-long lessons at the farm that will leave you feeling invigorated and ready to take on all of your studies with ease. The best part? Each lesson costs just $35!
Do you love to get social? Great! As a QEC participant, you’ll get to enjoy regular get-togethers with other members. It’s a fabulous opportunity to meet other Queen’s students and share your mutual love of horse riding.
Whether you’ve been riding for years or haven’t even gotten in a saddle (ever!), our club is geared towards all skill levels and abilities.
